June 14, 2008 Our 16th anniversary was spent at an Oakwood Friends School graduation in Poughkeepsie and at the party of family and dear friends of the graduate last evening. We had a happy day. We left home at about 9:15 a.m. and came home for a couple of hours during the afternoon during which I made Gajar Halva and Bob did "work work" (our term for paid work) at the computer. No naps for either. We didn't leave the party till 10:30 or later and Bob stood up really well, including getting up this morning to attend a funeral for the father-in-law of one of the Chordsmen at 10:30 about a half hour away. He forgot his anti-nausea pills before meals at lunch and dinner yesterday, but wasn't going to let that happen any more. He is having some hiccoughs today. We will discuss that when we call Charlene (the nurse who administers the drugs) on Monday. As he continues to take the Xeloda we will have to try to keep to the regimen to try to avoid a repeat of last cycle. He should finish this cycle on the morning June 18.
Earlier this week, on Wednesday, John Frank came home to visit. We fixed an easy Trader Joe's dinner and invited all the roomers to join us out on the porch. The evening was cool, and not humid, and after some time lively conversation erupted among us. We tired to eat by candle light, but as one or the other sputtered I managed to extinguish half of them. Good for a few laughs. As we were enjoying watermelon and cinnamon grahams Marcus pulled into the driveway and joined us for a nice visit. What a sweet evening we had!
