OK - the TRUTH About Our Struggle With MESS!

Friends, I confess that I spend my days fighting mess. One of us just doesn't put anything away as he goes (guess which?). The other collects things, papers, pictures, etc.; doesn't file important papers; and saves things in piles "to deal with later". She also hounds the former about messy desk, dresser, car and basement. Recently the former has actually cleaned up the top of his dresser and a pile of things that were on his desk. So "she" is, perhaps, behind right now. Coumba says that no one can create more of a mess in the kitchen than "she", Rouky and Nana.

But we like having a comfortable, welcoming home. We pretty much manage to keep the living room and guest rooms in good order. The kitchen has it moments. The dining room is pretty good when neither of us is using the table to "organize" our stuff. However, recently there is always a pile of mess on the table in the corner under our marriage certificate. Our bedroom is less messy than over-filled! What to do?? Help is surely needed.

When I turned on Oprah one evening I was drawn into a program on cleaning up messes. The approaches used were of less interest to me than the thoughts expressed about what a messy home means to its inhabitants and how an orderly, attractive environment can support and nurture the family within. The rest of this post is taken from www.Oprah.com.

Is your bedroom a pigsty? Your living room disorganized? Are there piles of stuff as far as the eye can see? Never fear, organizational master Peter Walsh has some help to offer.

Peter says. "I know the world outside your front door feels uncertain and unpredictable right now, but that's why it's more important than ever to transform your messy space into a comfortable and safe place that you can call home."

Patty says her house has truly become a home. "Before, it was a collection of stuff in a box. Now, it is a place where we live together and enjoy each other and we have peace together," she says. "We're sleeping better. We're getting more time to spend together. It's just a much more pleasant, calming, peaceful, sweet place to be that embodies the soul of our family, our marriage and our relationship with each other."
